CERT
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community. January 2008 : A CERT class will be starting soon in Belpre

"I thought the CERT training was presented very well and was easy to understand. We never know how we will respond in an emergency situation but I feel better equipped to help my family and neighbors should one arise." Kathy Bargeloh
Vincent (Decatur Township)
"We felt that after we took the class we are more confident in helping with emergencies in our community or other communities that will need help.
We have our backpacks ready to grab and go. My daughter took her Certs backpack with her to college just in case of an emergency there. We feel that more people should take a CERT class........" Catherine Mace,Bob Jordan,Liz Mace
"The CERT class was fun and very informative. While we have excellent emergency services in our area, we all learned how to assist family, friend and neighbors in the event of an emergency where the emergency services, for whatever reason(s) , might be unable to promptly respond. I recommend every community have it's own CERT Team as we do here in Decatur Township. The Instructor is very knowledgeable with lots of real experience in
the various subjects covered in the class and does an excellent job!
