Board of Health

The Board of Health is an appointed board that governs the health district. The board consists of five members and an alternate from the community and must have a physician, dentist, or veterinarian appointed. Each member is appointed to a five year term, with a position becoming open each year. Four of the appointments are made by the District Advisory Council and one member and an alternate is appointed by the Licensing Council.

Board of Health meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the conference room of the Health Department. Meetings are open to the public. While there is an open forum for members of the public to address the Board, if there is a specific issue that someone would like to bring to the Board for action, it is asked that the item be brought to the Health Commissioner for scheduling on the agenda.
