Funding
The Washington County Health Department has an annual budget of approximately $1.5 million dollars. The Township Trustees contribute $225,000.00 to the annual budget, with the rest coming from fees, contracts, and grants.
The Health Department received over $1.2 million dollars from other government agencies, mostly from the Ohio Department of Health, during 2007. These funds were used to support Disaster Preparedness through the Public Health Infrastructure Grant; Health Living through the Cardiovascular Health Grant; and Oral Health through the school-based Dental Sealant Grant and the Southeastern Ohio Dental Clinic Grant.
